Lamhaa's relevance lies in its ability to give you an overview, even if it's a crammed one, about the ugliness of greed and intolerance through the example of Kashmir. At the same time it's honest and practical enough to end on an unfulfilled, hopeless note.

...the film is gripping, and while it may be trying too hard to be true to every complex reality of Kashmir, its heart is big. And more importantly in the right place.

Rahul Dholakia...doesn't lose his storytelling equilibrium even when the sitiuations of crises described by the skilfully-written plot scream for attention.

...a no-holds-barred look at the multi-layered turmoil in Kashmir, with so many real-life references that you end up with just one conclusion: now here's a real film about a real problem.

...may not be a completely satisfying two-hour experience. Yet its noble intentions and a bid to go beyond the surfacial situation in the troubled valley of Kashmir, elevate the outcome to a notch above the candy-floss and the commonplace.

...does not give you too many reasons to go and watch it. Though it is the kind of film that wants you to sympathise with its characters, the plot leaves you so utterly confused that you just want to forget this blood fest.

It analyses the Kashmir problem without offering any simplistic solution. A good watch.

In attempting to explore the issues facing the Kashmiri people through the prism of a thriller, Dholakia misses the wood for the chinars.
