Toh Baat Pakki

...may not be as riveting as the 80s entertainers, yet it rides high on sheer nostalgia. Also, it presents a different kind of cinema in an age that lays great emphasis on high decibel, larger-than-life drama.

Though not path-breaking in any terms, the flavour of the film is a delectable balance between candyfloss and masala.

...the actors’ resilience and talent manages to make this mediocre feature watchable.

...the only reason we can recommend the film is Tabu alone. Watch it, if that’s reason enough for you to sample the rest of the mediocre fare.

A wannabe-Hrishikesh Mukherjee film. It’s one of those simple one-line plots that if told well could be both entertaining and insightful. But, this is neither, mainly because its loud and tries too hard to keep it light.

Tabu herself can't help being a good actress. But she clearly doesn't have the wherewithal to rescue a script this weak, loaded down with bad lines and a very weakly written character.

...is as inert at its centre as s clock that stopped ticking while you were sleeping. Avoid, even if you are a diehard Tabu fan. In fact please avoid IF you are Tabu fan.

Loaded with a plot, which at first endears, and then irritates, the film chugs along to its inevitable, predictable, boring end.

But the biggest shocker here is Tabu. Why she, said to be extremely picky about her roles, said yes to this one will remain an enduring mystery.

Everybody in the movie goes home happy, except the viewers.
